The Surly Temple comprised of Doug Plavin, Guy Devito, and Jim Henry are taking the local music scene by storm. These long-time valley music luminaries play with the best: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Paula Cole, Stevie Wonder, Dar Williams, The Weepies, Tracy Grammer…the list goes on! Our local musical jewel performs Broadway hits and pops on Tuesdays in July. The Greenfield Military Band began in 1904 when the City of Greenfield appropriated $700 to begin a Town Band. It is now recognized as being in the top 2% of the oldest continuing community bands in America.

23 - SUNDAYS IN THE PARK - Tret Fure 6:00 pm.
Tret Fure began her career at the age of 16, singing in coffeehouses and campuses in the Midwest. At 19, she moved to LA and within a year she was performing as guitarist and vocalist for Spencer Davis. Now one the most prolific artists in the contemporary singer-songwriter arena, Tret Fure has released 15 albums and CDs over the course of her 46 year career.

Even today it is possible to write songs honestly and intelligently, arrange them with a sensitive ear and sing in a way that brings their stories to life. In his quiet way, the Boston-based singer/songwriter has gathered and grown a following that values these qualities. 1 - Sunday: 4th Annual Franklin County Out of the Darkness Walk 9:30 am - 1:00 pm.Presented by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Community Walks are proof that when people work together, they can make big changes. With 200,000 people walking in 350 cities across the country, the walks raise awareness for suicide prevention as they raise the resources needed to carry out their mission.
