Wildflower Walks
The forest surrounding our Green River Swim Area is a unique treasure among its natural setting. Nature enthusiasts are encouraged to join this walk as we explore the native plants in the area including some unique spring ephemerals in the early spring walks. Wear sturdy, comfortable walking/hiking shoes, and layers of clothing to accommodate the weather. Although much of our time will be on the relatively flat ground, the hike is of moderate difficulty. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and your favorite means of identifying native plants. There are a pair of Wednesday walks (two weeks apart) OR a pair of Saturday walks (two weeks apart); you may choose EITHER Wednesdays or Sundays. The goal of these walks is to see the sequence of growth in a variety of spring ephemerals. By taking the same path twice, with two weeks in between, we expect to see the progressive changes in this habitat.
